What is a Trigger?

A trigger is a specific event that causes an action to run in a workflow.

When you are building a workflow and adding an action to the workflow, you must decide what event should happen for that action to run.

Those events are called triggers.

Types of Triggers in Agiled.

  • Fixed Triggers
  • Relative Triggers

Fixed Triggers

With fixed triggers, you can choose to perform an action on a specific day or time.

How to set up Fixed Trigger?

To set up a fixed trigger, choose any action you want to set up and choose Fixed from the options in the Actions. The next step is to add when you want the action to be taken.

To do that, pick a date and the time from the “When” field.

If you choose Fixed Trigger, please remember that the date and time will be the same for every project you apply to.

For example, if you choose to send an email in a workflow on November 9, 2022, the workflow will send an Email on November 9,2022 for all the projects you apply it to.

Relative Triggers

Relative Triggers allow the workflow to perform an action when a specific event occurs in your account.

For example, you can set the workflow to send an email when an invoice is paid, the project is started, or when the form is completed.

You can also choose delay with relative triggers. You can choose to perform an action with a delay of days, weeks, and months.

Here is the list of relative triggers available in Agiled.

  • After Invoice Paid in Full
  • Before Project Start Date
  • After Project Start Date
  • After Project End Date
  • After Workflow is Started
  • After Form is Completed
  • After Contract signed by Client
  • After Proposal signed by Client
  • After Estimate accepted by a client
  • After all previous actions are complete
  1. After Invoice Paid in Full

This trigger is fired when the Primary Invoice of the project is paid in full.

  1. Before Project Start Date

This trigger is relative to the Project Start Date. You can choose to fire this trigger, days, weeks, or months before the Project Start Date.

  1. After Project Start Date

  1. After Workflow Started

This trigger is relative to the start date and time of the Workflow. This trigger can be fired with a delay. You can perform an action when a certain time period has passed after the start of Workflow.

For example, you can send an email to the primary client of the Project after 2 hours of the start of Workflow.

  1. After the form is completed

This trigger is fired when the client submits a selected form. You can also set a delay for this trigger.

For example, you can send an email after 2 hours of form completion.

  1. After Contract Signed by Client

This trigger is fired when the project Contract is signed by the client.

Let's say you want to send a form 1 hour after the client signs the Project Contract. You can choose this trigger and set a delay of 1 hour after the Contract is signed.

  1. After Proposal is Signed by the Client

This trigger is fired when the client signs the Project Proposal.
